Expanding the Capabilities of BIM
As a R&D assistant I was responsible for evaluating new technologies and tools that could be used to improve urban planning processes. This may involve researching new software programs, conducting user testing, and providing feedback to software developers. This focused on identifying existing research on urban planning and providing areas for software development. This was achieved by collecting data from a variety of sources (workshops, interviews, and case studies), using the competitive testing and evaluative research to provide prototypes for the business.
The major focus of this study was stakeholder identification, management and engagement. This was done via understanding the stakeholder requirements from an interactive planning consultation platform and to identify what elements of BIM data can bridge the current knowledge gaps in planning consultation.
